LOTTO The winning lotto numbers for Monday 1st November were; 1, 7, 15, 20 and 30. Five lucky dip winners out of fourteen each win £20. Jackpot still remains £20,000 and the snowball is now £200. Lotto is available from all local shops and from committee members.
SENIORS
2.5 – 0-12 The senior team were in the league playoffs on Saturday 30th October away to Moortown. Moortown opened the scoring with a point fisted over, before Sean Murphy put over the Plunketts first score from a free. Moortown shot over five unanswered points before Ollie McCreesh put us back on scoring form. With some great play from Denver Nugent to Jarlath Quinn who gave a lovely pass to Ciaran McKenna and Ciaran rattled the back of the net to bring us back into the game with only a point between the teams. Moortown got a point before half time. Half time score 1.2 – 0-7. Pomeroy came out fighting in the second half and the game was most certainly on with some great fielding of the ball into our forwards, Ciaran McKenna put over the first point of the second half, and with a pass from Ollie McCreesh to Jarlath Quinn who bagged our second goal of the game which put us ahead for the first time. Moortown got their next three points and again Mark McKenna evened up the scores with his point. Moortown again replied with two points to put them up by two points and Mark McKenna put over a free from about the forty to again bring the difference to one point and although we had scoring opportunities we were unable to convert them into a much needed point to even up the game for extra time. Moortown were very fast paced in the first twenty minutes of the first half before Pomeroy were able to break their defence to bring themselves back into the game. In the second half The Plunketts put on a great display of football and it was a score for score situation, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats until the end whistle. This was a great game to end the season and although we didn’t come away winners the boys and management can take great pride with the way the game was played. YOUTH
This is a call out to all the parents of our youth teams. We need more help!! We need as much help as possible with all the teams. Courses are going to be run for anyone who is interested. No offer of help is to small and all help would be greatly appreciated and much needed for the development of the youth teams. If interested put your name forward to Bing Kennedy or Lorraine Girvan. Numbers will be limited. Fee for the camp tbc. There will be a jersey and handball in the kit given to everyone who takes part. All County League/Championship Any of the senior players interested in taking part in the All County League and Championships need to give their name, grade and £20 entry fee (jersey included in this price) to contact Bing before 8th November. Handball Marathon All our handball players will be involved in a 12 hour marathon, which will take place at the end of November. Sponsor sheets will be given out this week.
