Club Notes 29th August 2016

Pomeroy Na Pluínceídí CLG notes for 29th Aug 2016
The seniors left us all with our hearts in our mouths with a late goal sealing victory in last Fridays nights Championship first round clash against Aghyaran in Healy Park. A dominant first half from the Plunkett’s was just what was needed and we led the St Davog’s 1-8 to 0-5 at the interval courtesy of a Justy McCaffery goal and some fine scores from frank Burns and Hugh Pat McGeary. The guys were put under serious pressure in the open 15 mins of the second half with the Aghyaran men eventually turning the deficit to a one point lead. A late Crico Colhoun goal did the business however and the lads, to their credit, dug deep for a great victory. So its on to round two, although there is some important league business to tidy up first as the lads head back to Derrytresk for the refixture this Sunday – throw in is at 2:30pm. Well done lads and lets keep the momentum going.
A big thankyou is conveyed to all those who attended Plunkett Park and helped out in any capacity for last Saturdays Championship double header – Go raibh maith agat.
