SENIOR FOOTBALL

The seniors teams had a busy weekend with some very important games.  The first being against local rivals Galbally.  Pomeroy were able to dominate for long periods but without the vital scores to keep us in touch meant that Galbally won the game.

Then both the reserves and senior teams were back out on Sunday 14th August away to Loughmacrory.  The reserves were in sterling form and produced a very good win.

The senior game was an end of seat game with each side trading points and goals.  Half time score 2-4 to 1-6.  With a one point advantage going into the second half the Plunketts were hungry to push ahead and were in control from the start whistle scoring 1-3 before Loughmacrory were able to penetrate through the tight defence to put over 2 points, but the Plunketts kept control and put over the last 2 scores, to secure 2 vital league points.

The last league game is on Saturday 3rd September at home against Gortin.
