The winning lotto numbers for Monday 20^th August were; 5, 6, 11, 17 and 26.  Well done to Cormac Quinn who matched 4 numbers and wins this week’s snowball.

The Plunketts put up a brave display against Loughmacrory in the Championship last Friday evening.  The first half was a very closely contested battle with both teams defending excellently, it was the 16^th minute before Loughmacrory put over the first point of the game, from a free.  The Plunketts were quick to respond with a superb goal finished off by Stevie McKenna.  The Lough scored the next 3 points of the game before Kieran McGeary and Ollie McCreesh added to the Plunketts score line.  Half time score 1.2 – 0.5. 

 

The second half opened with a point by John Loughran.  The backs worked extremely hard to defend on both sides of the field making it hard work for the forwards.  Loughmacrory put over their next point in the 8^th minute followed by a free being sent over by Justy McCaffery.  Loughmacrory broke through the defence to find the back of the net to put them ahead for the first time in the game and then converted a free to give them a 4 point advantage, it was all uphill for Pomeroy in the last 10 minutes but the boys kept at it and a Ronan McKenna point in the 30^th minute came a final drive, which saw Brendan Burns break through and shoot for goal but it rebounded off the woodwork, the Plunketts managed a late free put over by Sean Murphy. 

 

The next round of the League is at home on Sunday 26^th August V Moy at 12pm (Reserve) and 1.30pm (Senior). 

 

 

The Reserves are away to Loughmacrory on Friday 24^th August at 7pm for their Championship clash. 

 

 

Well done to Una Campbell who won the All Ireland Fleadh on Saturday, in the miscellaneous section, playing the saxophone. 

 

 

 

The boys are in the Semi-Final of the league V Eglish, on Tuesday 21 August. 

 

 

Training for the U12 and U10 girls will take place on Wednesday at 7pm. 

 

 

There is training for U8 girls on Wednesday evenings at 7, all girls from P1-P4 can attend. 

 

 

The U8 boys have a Blitz on Saturday 26^th August in Cookstown. 

 

Training is on Wednesday evenings at 7.  Bring inside and outside gear.  All parents are asked to stay and help out.
